Description

To create online courses, I lead projects with subject matter experts. During the design phase, we work together on the course goals, module outcomes, learning resources, and assessments. I create course maps that detail the course content and guide user engagement and accessibility. Then during the development phase, I build courses in learning management systems (LMS), uploading and editing content.

• The course projects are best viewed on the university learning management systems, but I have added some screen shots here to show a couple of versions of course maps and pages from the LMS.

• I have used five different LMS to create online courses in higher educations: Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, and now Open edX and zyBooks. They all work well, so I enjoy them all.

• I use whatever course map works well for my team. Sometimes it is a spreadsheet or a simple table to start with. Then I often use a formal template if there is one required for academic review.
