Description
This interactive activity is designed for travelers to Ireland who wish to learn more about its ancient native language. Although more than 70 million people worldwide claim Irish ancestry, not many travelers know a lot about the Irish language. This is both a quick information guide and an easy tutorial about how to say “thank you” in Irish.
More information
To create this micro-learning activity, I used Articulate 360.
For a quick overview of the Irish language, which includes a number of dialects, I added some history with a true-false sorting interaction as a follow-up.
There are unusual spelling conventions in Irish, making pronunciation tricky, so I included a recording of me saying “thank you” in the Munster dialect.
